Grace Riley was born during my treatment for Stage 3 breast cancer. Facing a mastectomy and other surgery, I was anxious about the long recovery time attached to a drain and unable to do my regular job as a photographer.

I began buying beads and making necklaces for family and friends and it occurred to me that I was very happy creating things in a quiet mind, and - this is the important part - my left arm hardly had to move. Together with my partner we've launched Grace Riley (our daughters' middle names) with myself as lead creator and Tim as the sensible one.
